can someone remind me if you need special paint for the perspex - just replacing one of my headlamp covers and top part needs sprayed black, previously used basic matt spray paint but remeber somewhere reading that special stuff should really be used? cheers

Yes you must use the right stuff as it has etching properties.
It is the primer used for fitting windscrees so you need to blag some from your local screen fitting company. It has a very short shelf life so there is little point buying any.
I found the larger companies would not release it claiming a duty of care if I went and fitted a screen myself using their product. A smaller outlet was more than happy to give me a half empty pot.
