I've noticed a few stock american V8's only need servicing at 100,000 mile intervals, with nothing more than an oil/filter change in between! This is quite amazing isn't it? The corvette lump is one of these units btw.
Do you guys use stock crate engines from chevvy / ford to take advantage of this? Seems like a great opportunity here. Or do you use more specialist engine sources, or have stock motors tuned up higher, making normal service intervals necessary?
I have some mags lying around with ads in there for 500bhp new V8's up for £8k - what a bargain! Makes the likes of Ferraris 456GT engine at £65k seem like a very bad joke. It's a shame more people don't drop these V8's into more european cars.

I doubt you will find any Ultima engine that falls into the catagory of 'Stock'.
All owners will carry out service at much smaller interval. The service does not amount to much more than an oil & filter change. Weigh the cost of that against the value of the engine and you have money well spent.
As for fitting the SBC in a european car, I doubt it would fit.
