Water and Oil temp ?

Whilst waiting in traffic, noticed the water and oil temp creeping up, I was just wondering, what is the safest temp to let them get to, before doing something about it ( don't know what like! ) I let the water get to 86 and the oil to 87 on the stack, but what is safe please ? oh that is with the fans on.

My mate David Vizard says in his book.
110°C is close to the limit for Mineral oil and 149°C would be fine for Synthetic.
Minerals produce their most power at 76°C water and 104°C oil.

His Dyno testing showed that synthetics produced more power than mineral and Redline Synth produce the most power of any oil but it’s B expensive so he uses Mobil 1.

From my own experience the air bleed hose from the rad back to the swirl pot blew in three places when I got to 110°C water.

H, don't sweat it! I don't think your car will pose to much of a problem as it is very well sorted but there is always the possibility that something has deteriated over time.
If you are looking to get something done on the car, may I suggest a colour change pre Stoeleigh (not green though)

don't let the water get over 95 (you will only see this in trafic)... and the oil get to 120 if you are using good oil (only on track will you get to this)

Thanks guys panic over, Kendall oil same as, done over 1000 miles now, so will do an oil change b4 Stonleigh, and include the g,box as well. Got to keep her in tip top condition as she is only on loan, eh Andy ! Have decided to forget the colour change, as RED suits the Can-am.

Actually the STACK should be set to warn you when the oil or water temperature get to high.... same drill as the Fuel, the light will come on and the display will say high oil etc.

Also the STACK has tell tales, so I will know if you have been letting her get to hot... or over reving her.

Well you can give her the once over at Stoneleigh, just to make sure, that I am keeping her in the condition she has been acustom too I will be there on Sunday, you can't miss me as I am a George Clowny look alike
