London Marathon, Sunday keep an eye out for me
Discussion
It's the London Marathon this Sunday, and I'm doing it.
I'm running for Essex Air Ambulance and doing it in a flight suit and helmet. (I hope it's not a hot day)
I've been in a few local papers (the Essex Chronicle tomorrow) & the BBC want to interview me on the day, so if the tv's on...
This is what I'll be running in
Just for fun I made a few videos of my training.

Can I expect a hero's welcome at Stoneleigh then?
OK
Has anyone got a small pistonheads sticker and who lives in Richmond, Croydon or Putney
or does anyone have a logo they can email me?
I should have asked Ted, but I've left it a bit late now.

Pete: I get the flight suit, but what is that thing behind you. Thats like a bicycle at a sport bike gathering, damn boy, thats like a bicycle with training wheels at a Hells Angels party. Pete, if it doesn't go tick tick when it starts perferably tick tick twice don't get in it. (For the non helicopter pilots, the tick tick is the gas turbine starting.) Good luck in your event. Lee
Ha Ha sorry, I'm still saving up for my Eurocopter, just another £3.5 million to go.
I've not got any turbine time yet, but I've been reading about hot starts and how often it happens.
"Sorry I just broke your £1 million engine, I didn't suck enough air before lighting the fuel, is it ok if your aircraft is not used for 3-4 months while it goes off to be fixed"
What a bad day in the office that will be.
Thanks for all your support guys, I've made a little pistonheads.com sticker for my helmet and I'll try and remember to plug it.
I was on the the radio yesterday (LBC london) and I manged to say hello to you all yesterday but I'm sure none of you sods heard it.

Hey I'm not dead this is good, I've got my flip-flops on today and I'm a bit sore.
I did it, 6.06.19, a bit slow but I don't care, it was so hot, I just got slower and slower.
It was like running in a sleeping bag.
I was a bit worried at mile 3 how hot it was at 10:30am and the amount of people who said “your not really running in that are you” before I got to the start and the amount of people who said good luck as I was running along, I drank and drank water all the way round, I was sick a few times (and after and on the way home…
you hear this “yea go Pete” then a “ooh” as you being sick the the "ya" when you start running again
Funny now.
I collapsed after the end, they picked me up and put they put me on a drip (well I had quite a few to be honest) and I had a lovely lady who works from the London HEMS come and look after me as she heard I had been running as a pilot.
I'm not sure it's stubbiness or stupidity to be honest, but I’m glad I did it.
Did any one see me on the telly? I had my pistonheads sticker on.
A few photos I took on the way round
Kate took a little video when I stopped at 13 miles.
