Hi folks, thanks for the interest.

I already have three people lined up for Aug / Sept - two grooms and a bride ! But I'm not going into this full time, I'll see how it goes. NB from a financial point of view there are significant benefits in doing the odd wedding run other than the £500 charge - if you are considering this yourself then email me at [e-mail] and I'll give you some pointers (so long as you are not in Shropshire !).

This all assumes that my self build passes the SVA ....

Hi Peter,

Yes, I'm the driver. The insurance is on a pay as you go (or wed) basis in addition to the main policy (with Hegarty, although the wedding hire is a separate department). From memory it is about £ 50 a go, assuming cover rates haven't changed.

Yes, a three seater Ultima would be ideal. My two sons are already arguing about who gets picked up from school first !

Hi Chewy,

Idea was shortlisted 12 months back from three possible money saving ideas I had. I've done some wedding work years back in another car I had and thought the GTR would be unusual and eyecatching, even if a little impractical. But it's not why I've built it - I've wanted one since Ted took me out 6 years ago and have been saving / selling kidneys & souls ever since.

The two yellow Ultima's look great - who wants an old rolls when you can arrive in an Ultima (*) !

(*) My missus veto'd my own request for our own wedding - we had a jowett javelin instead of the massive engined 1920s le mans racer I wanted. Something silly about having to jump over the side doors in a long wedding dress ... women eh ?
