I'd look at LS1tech.com forums. There's a load of info on there - depends on what you are looking for in regards to emissions too.
There's several ways to go for 600hp-ish in the LS range:
1. Stock LS7
2. Stock LS2 with supercharger - My LS+magnacharger got 578hp with stock cats and stock cast manifolds. 600+ with headers and free flows would be right.
3. Built LS .... You'd get to 600 without a blower, but you'd need cubes and cams... both of which may effect emissions testing.
If you need emissions testing - look out for mods with California Smog approval... that will pass just about anything.
If you need to go the emissions route, I would go for a stock LS with a turbo or supercharger.

What Crafty said really.
SteveLots of options out there pretty much determined by your budget. If it were me I'd build something up based around a 5.7 or 6.0. Or go the whole hog abd build something bigger and better at at least double the cost. Give me a shout sometime and leave your landline no. Be nice to hear what your up to

damn, those prices of those lovely LS7(heaven) engines are really good, if you think about a BMW engine with the same power the V10 I guess your cost are about 40.000,-euro that's about 54.000 USD..you must be crazy not to choose the LS7 engine, man, I even think about putting a LS7 engine in a BMW Z3 M coupe when I change cars, think that's possible but what would that cost in total, so the LS& engine and all stuff you need extra like engine-wiring and stuff.
What do you need more in that package, I mean the LS7 engine price is good, what do you need more to get it in a strange car? wiring? exhaust? engine-rubbers, dynamo and more to keep it a running package?
