Ultima toolkit

Now I know that this may sound a bit cissy ( and especially in light of the recently posted 'gay Ultima owners' thread ) but I am here to ask if there are any particular tools that folk think maybe a distinct advantage ( be it through personal experience or just innovation ) to carry with us in an Ultima? Even if it is obvious to yourself, please mention it as it could prove to be invaluable in a given situation.

Tools to replace pistons, rings, big-end bearings, crankshaft...............Sh*t sorry Wayne, I forgot you don't have one of those useless ASS lumps of pig-iron in the GTW!

Good question as soon departing Le Mans. I carry a selection of spanners, trying to figure out most common ones, pliers allen keys. Cable ties, yes have fixed all sorts of problems with these, fuses, spare nuts and bolts, Esp exhaust manifold, spare bolts for alternator. Cable and electrical plugs, gaffer tape, electrical tape. Jump leads puncture repair 1ltr oil. Gloves hand wipes. All of this fits into bag and takes about 1/2 side pod.

1) Both belts and tools to adjust.

2) A method of getting the car up in the air (now I didn't take it with me on the Cannonball but one of the other competitors lent me a trolley jack, so I did keep it on board on the way back - it fitted on the floor behind the driver's seat)

3) Two adjustable spanners

4) Rag

5) Jubilee clips

6) Tape - tank/insulation

7) and agree with the tie wraps and craft knife

spare belts, with spanners to adjust, plugs and plug spanner, spare bulbs, screwdriver with various detachable heads, adjustable spanner, allen key set, everything else has been covered, and a small tool box which fits into the side pod, available from maplin £3

On a serious note, Wayne. You need to get the headlight housings and the access panels to your electrics fitted and sealed to the weather before your trip to Spa. If you don't, the best you can expect is that your interior will get soaked, worst could mean lots of smoke and blown electrics. Not fun when you're 350 miles from home!
