Err, what does that do?

Anyone know what these chassis appendages (for want of a better word) are for? Located on the lower rail, both sides, by the driver and passenger footwell. I can't see any reason for them, but thats probably just me showing my techincal ignorance, but thought I'd ask anyway!

They do nothing for about 99% of all ultimas. Anyone use them to mount air jacks?

Damn , i thought they were a 'nut' rest for when leaning over to do the centre of the loom (whilst on the dolly of course) - i had told the other half that Ultima think of everything
