Attention Jeff Schwartz.. A challenge From Ferrari
Discussion
Jeff
Since you have become our resident Ultima speed defender, it's my duty to inform you of the latest numbers that Ferrari has released for the Enzo in the latest issue of Autoweek (a weekly U.S. car magazine)
0 to 60 mph, 3.14 seconds; 0 to 100, 6.67 seconds.
How say you, my friend!!

I also intend to go after these figures after all I am already within 0.3 seconds down the quarter as it 'only' does 11.1 down the quater mile (jeff has done a 10.9!).
Brings on a more interesting debate as to how I can be around 1 second slower to 100mph and over 10mph lower terminal speed and yet only be 0.3 slower over the distance.

(I'm not Jeff but...)
In testing by the various publications here in Europe on Ferrari's own test track, none of them could replicate the times (or get close to) that Ferrari claimed.
So ner-nerr-ne-nerrr Ferrari

Indeed; whilst sitting reading tons of motoring publications this week while in hospital (removing "metalwork" from previous bike accident) I read June edition of Top gear. The headline was something like..Enzo - the worlds quickest??
Apparantly Ferrari invited them and a few other journo's to conduct a proper speed test, with their own (journo's) speed equip. They had two Enzo's to play with as the first (another red one) did a couple of warm-up laps and then the electronic gearbox failed, only allowing 2nd gear pull aways.
A yellow Enzo appeared, as if by magic, and the car was 'severely' tested. Also the car was piloted by none other than Dario Benuzzi (Ferrari's chief test pilot), and the TG guy was passenger so that would knock a negligible slice off of the acceleration times.
TG journo were using the latest gps based speed equipment. Times are posted as follows:-
Red Enzo Yellow Enzo
0-30 1.7 1.8
0-40 2.3 2.4
0-50 2.8 2.9
0-60 3.4 4.0
0-70 4.1 4.6
0-80 5.1 n/a
0-90 5.9 n/a
0-100 7.9 n/a
0-110 9.1 9.2
0-120 9.1 10.3
0-130 n/a n/a
standing quarter n/a
30-70 through gears
2.4 2.8
Sadly the standing 1/4 and all the other n/a times were due to the satellite corupting the data as the car went under a footbridge thereby causing a miss read. Also Dario claimed a recored 0-62 in 3.51 and a 0-60 in 3.44 seconds. No one was able to replicate the original posted Ferrari times, but even so, 0-100 is 6.7 seconds which comes in 1.3 seconds faster than the Zonda.

Are there road legal slicks you could buy for the Ultima? You know, slicks that the IRL cars be using in the rain. So you could use it in the dry and in the rain.
Is it even possible to put all 534 hp to the ground without without losing traction?
Yokohama A032R's are pretty close to grooved slicks and they're road legal. Dunno if you can get them to fit the Ultima wheels though?
They largest the Yoks come in are 17" atm. I know Hoosier makes a DOT road legal R compound tires that will fit. It won't last you to long though. We have a vehicle running on the new Yokohama 032R soft compound and they seem to do well. Atleast the tread wear should last about 5 times longer. (we will see)
How can the Enzo compete like this when it weighs 3400 pounds!
I just wanted to post to see if Jay or anybody had approached the Enzo's performance. 3.3 secs to 60 and 11.1 quarter mile. These are R&T's specs. I also like the slalom speed of 73mph this is the best for R&T records.
Here's the link to R&T's data.

I like the Enzo better than the F50 but it seems like the 288GTO and F40 were lighter and more pure bred.

I've got the largest size 032R's available on the narrower set of wheels I have for my Mk4. They don't do any big enough to go on a GTR though. Very good tyres though.
