Albins Transaxles

Hi all

Just got a response back from Albins Off Road Gear, they are manufacturing transaxles in Victoria Australia and some of there products may be suitable for use in an Ultima. I did give them a cal and they have done some components for street cars in the past and mentioned a few GT40 replicas. The boxes are a replacement for Porsche G50 boxes, sequential is cable change, H pattern is rod change. They can be had in dog or Synchromesh versions. The AGB has an 11.5” crown wheel, while the AGB 10 has a slightly smaller 10” crown wheel. Both of these are bigger that what is in the Porsche boxes, with the larger diffed G50’s and 930 being the biggest at 9.5”

If you looking for upgrades for the Getrag boxes they may be able to help. Prices where at time of writing, and in Australian dollars

Nice I like the bigger diff sizes, but I think most people want some thing alittle closer to home and cheaper.... So the "ZFQ" 5 speed transaxle would suit the majority..

Even though I still want a 6 speed Seq, for my car.... Elite Racing Transmissions is still looking the best for me at present.. But like most of us I'm always on the lookout for a better deal...

Did you notice the “Chev Bell housing” option, I haven’t looked into it but I assume that should you be able to use Chev clutch and fly wheel things would be a bit cheaper than the Porsche equivalent.

Still a suitable mutilate would probably be best option it the power demands it.

Final drive ratios seem a bit on the high side

guess power rating is the biggest question, are they guarenteed to take between 600-1000bhp?
