This weekend is Fighting Torque.
What is the fastest anyone has been without a wing. I wanna hear stories of what the car is like at 160+ without one.
If I like it without, then the following weekend I'll Vmax it without and give a true back to back with and without report.
Do I hear the words:
"Rotate.....flying!!"

184mph without the wing or the roof at Vmax for me.... it was hard to slow the bloody thing down tho so brake earlier.
Also been a bit faster than that in unoffical 'it didn't actually happen' circumstances without the wing as well with no issues at all.
edited to add that other than the brakes laking bite at high speed the car drove fine and certainly wasn't unstable.

The Wing and front splitter make a significant difference to braking. The faster you go the more you need to brake. If serious I would use the front slitter and box the sections under the engine to reduce drag.
Why not put gas struts on the engine cover and link them with the brakes so its like an airbrake.
Only stability really, why would you possibly brake so hard that you scrub off speed quickly? Engine braking and gradual foot braking, you need to reduce speed gently when travelling at such high speed.

At certain Vmaxes the braking has to be a little harsher than one would like as the braking area is not as long as you'd want!!

That's good to know. I think I'll go without and see how it goes on Sunday and use it as a learning curve for the following week's Vmax - Sunrise. Also been a bit faster than that in unoffical 'it didn't actually happen' circumstances without the wing as well with no issues at all.

Any GTRs run high speeds without wing?
BTW - I had it cleared for the factory's 720 to run at Vmax. They declined due to holiday commitments.
I did offer to drive it for them......but was turned down!! Fancy that!!They are still after entrants at the Vmax Sunrise Sunday 19th Aug. Come on peeps, have a crack.

Do you have experience of high speeds on a runway in an ultima?
High speeds on a runway yes, in an Ultima no, but I have a good grasp of braking and high speed driving in a race situation. Race car aerodynamics too!Do you have experience of high speeds on a runway in an ultima?

I would like to see an Ultima on top of the Porsche at VMAX. 207mph? Comon, one of you Ultima owner's can top that!
Factory reckon 207 would be easily achievable, with the production 720.PROVE IT!!
Would be good to actually see the car doing these event, such a shame they choose to only do these kind of runs behind closed doors and always make excuses for group events.

Wonder if anyone asked at the ultima open day about the general "Ultima and tests situation?" IE why Ultima seem reluctant to attend? could be a very simple answer.?? I am certainly curious.
Good luck with the 207mph,... but things happen very quickly at that speed so dont take any chances!

207?? Hope you are not refering to me.....I am resigned to the 180 club!! (given a 3mph improvement!!).Good luck with the 207mph,... but things happen very quickly at that speed so dont take any chances!
I think they should get out there and give the cars a blast in an open forum. If my old 497 bhp can do 177, and the 640 over 200 then the 720 must be pushing 210, eh???
