Vmax - Sunrise 188mph
Discussion
Wing off...
188mph......
No issue on the run, but definately skitish under hard braking (which I didn't need to do (but did it for you all anyway!!))
If I had 650bhp, I'd leave the wing on and just blast through the wind resistance. But I dont, so I can't.
11mph improvement from last time is probably not due to the wing removal alone. I got better lines, soffened up the springs.....and err....went to 7100 in 4th which got me into 5200 in 5th.
I also took the filter off and replaced it with a very fine gauze. Should have done one mod at a time but things didn't pan out like that.
911 9ff cabriolet, 211mph. (I beat it on a 202mph roof down run across the line, but that don't count!!)

Not to be negative but one side of the the runway was reading approx 5mph higher than the other. I achieved 188 on the left and 182 on the right. Same for others.
Are you a professional firework pi55er??? I've posted my concerns already about the timing......oh well, I'll take 183!! he-he!
Go get your M6 and disappear up your B£%!!

Charles Dunn has done an excellent job, engine feels smoother and quieter, so I hope it stays that way.......
.....two event's next weekend, then autumn repairs!!
Take the 188mph you deserve it..... well done regardless.
There is definatelly a knack to Brunters, I was much to casual about it as I just expect the car to get to 200mph no problem and I was genuinelly surprised when I ran out of road.
I don't know why, but I have the feeling you have the bug now and will keep playing until you crack 200mph.

It's back to going round in circles next saturday (Bedford), Then an exhibition run against Maclaren SLR and the like at The Wings and Wheels show - Dunsfold Aerodrome. Fuel and entry paid for out of the Factory Marketing Budget .........
.......................not!!
Damn....I've just remembered that we all ate the entire marketing budget at the FOD!!!
Perhaps we could all take sandwiches next year and then the Factory would be able to get a car out to show the world????
211mph to beat now Ted. (the 9ff team drove the car over from Spain for the day).

I want to see the 9ff up against Jeff's 1000+ hp Ultima!
Shouldn't be a race. Jeff's GTR is really well-prepared now. The goal is 0-200-0 within one mile. I believe it will happen this time.It will be an interesting event this year...more serious competition. I will be there again with the video camera. Hope to get some 200+ mph action.
Well done Lucky, and excellent video as usual. Sorry I couldn't make it myself (too many ales on Sat I am afraid). Will join you on the next Brunters run for sure. Valve lash now completed and engine feels right on song.
I agree the recent posts about the factory 720 coming along. Come on guys, get down for the next run and show everyone that the Ultima is still number one ! That's why I bought and built one !!! At least post a response on here, I know you read these threads. Dave, give Richard and Ted a nudge will you ?
Roll on Jeff and the Silver State !
