I have just placed my order for stages 1 to 14 and I hope to get going towards the end of November.

My CD build-manual is on it's way..

Is there anyone else who is also building one in Hampshire/Dorset ?

Kelvin

Hey - welcome to the club. I'm building now, but not your way I'm afraid - I'm in Kent. Hope you do it quicker than me; I'm at 5 years and counting (but still enjoying it!).

Hi Kelvin!

Congrats!!! Have a virtual beer on me!beer

Like you I've recently taken the plunge and finally ordered my build beginning of August.......timing wise I should see the workshop full around mid October.........be good to have someone to race....opps I mean compare notes with starting around the same timelaugh

Any thoughts on final spec or engine? I'm going down the LS7 route......

Paulb is down in Southampton and building his second Ultima. Where do you live?

Well I live in Beaconsfield, but the garage where I will be building the car is at our holiday home near Lymington in Hampshire.

As far as engine, LS7Tango - I too am considering the LS7, but I am a little confused as to what I will need in the engine bay for that motor, so I will continue to think about that - I won't need to make that decision for a while as I expect to be at least a year to get to rolling chassis, due to time constraints.

I appreciate all the info folks,
Best Regards

Kelvin

Hey Kevin,

Congratulations! With a little luck, my LS7 GTR will be on the road in a few months. Here's a picture after the work today. I am in Reno, Nevada, USA.

Nice Gould! Do you mind if I ask, what those cost? Feel free to PM me, if you don't want to go down that path in this post. Click the small image to see the larger...

Regarding the Gould :- It's no secret...I am actually in the process of advertising it for sale on www.top12runoff.co.uk , and at the "UphillRacers" forum at £39k.

I have been hillclimbing for many years in various single-seaters.... I have moved up from a bike-engined Jedi, to a 2-litre Pilbeam , and about 3 years ago, to the big V8 engined Gould, which is the ultimate thrill !! 580 hp in a car weighing 530kg....

However, I am not as quick as I once was - I don't get enough seat time to really improve - so my interests have changed - that is why I am moving on to build the Ultima, as I am giving up hillclimbing (at least for the time being)

Hello Kelvin and welcome to the mad house.
Tell us more about the intended spec of your car, ie. Motor, colour, dry sump or Acusump? etc.

I have not yet decided on the engine, although I am leaning towards an LS7....as to colour, again not decided - I had a look at Ben's part-built car near where I live and his is black - I do like the look of that, but will think a bit more.

Actually, what I like about this process is that you don't seem to have to make too many decisions in the early stages - I will certainly keep the forum informed as I go along, and I am sure to be on here asking for advice !!

Regards to all
