I broke something need advise

I was at the track this weekend and left the line pretty hard. Heard an nice bang and then the car acted as if it was in neutral. Not sure what's broken, but you can see in the picture the axle is no longer attached to anything. Is this the half shaft I hear people talking about braking? Do I have to replace the entire upright to fix it? Any stronger options out there or is the factory replacement part my only option?

Isnt that the centre from the upright thats come out, the half shaft looks whole still .... as opposed to the hole in the upright???????

The drive shaft consists of a CV joint at the 'box, the shaft, the CV joint at the upright and beyond that the half shaft passing through the hub bearings in the upright.
The broken bit is the half shaft.
The upright and its bearings will be OK you just need to replace the drive shaft (the inboard oil seal may be damaged be easily replaced). You could just replace the half shaft section of it however I believe Clive was pointing you at Jeff as he does an uprated shaft which by definition you probably need.
