Interesting engine/gearbox combo?

Someone got it very wrong in their Ford GT600RE (The Roush upgraded job). Coul make a good donor for quite a few parts if you fancied going a different way from GM for the engine:

PS. Ouch!

nice find stig!
these things are monster engines, both in power and size! there was a hensey (sp) built GT twin turbo car that was making over 1000bhp on normal fuel. also i think the 3.3 ltr whipple twin screw blower bolts slmost straight on the car!
these engine are wide and heavy though!
thanks Chris.

Fran Hall, Race car replica's is puting one of these gear boxes into the SLC that he manufactures. the box is quite a bit biger than the G50's
if you go to the Gt40s web site, and have a look in the RCR forum and the various threds about the SLC you will find the photos of it (have to be a forum member to see the photos.)

The GT box(Ricardo) is actually shorter in overall length than a G50 but is massive in girth from tip to stern...
I have nine on order from Ford motorsports...we have developed the adapter plates and flywheels for LS7 fitment.
Last hurdle is the clutch ...OEM is an AP multiplate style..
I am also working with Mastershift on a paddle shifter specifically for the Ricardo unit..

Fran,
Bob Zook and I were (trying) to measure a GT Transaxle today on his bosses car. Its tough to get in there but our rough dimensions were 31.5" long from block to tip of transaxle and the dimension from the block to the centerline of the half-shaft was 10.5". Are those about right?
Thanks,
Paul
