Lubricating the release bearing shaft

Putting my Getrag in this weekend and just wondered while it was out if the shaft the release bearing slides along should be greased as it looks dry?

Is this a good idea??

I would not lubricate it.
Putting oil or grease on it will just pick up the dust generated as the clutch wears and cause a sticky mess just at the point you want thing to move freely.
The release should be quite a loose fit so will not bind.
