Have you ever wondered how to determine how much air your engine uses? Well, I was talking with K&N Engineering yesterday and was able to extract the formulae for engine air requirements and their filter flows. Here's a simple spreadsheet that performs the calculations.
There may be other calculations for other manufacturers. These are specific to K&N conical and cylindrical elements. I believe it works out the 6 cubic feet per minute per square inch.
