What shocks and springs do most of you run
Discussion
i looked at the Intrax shocks but they are american and was concerned about servicing and the cost so the factory supplied me with a cheap set of shocks to get me on the road ,after a year on the road i wanted to get them upgraded but Richard told me they could not be modified and the intrax would be my only option !!!!!! after a visit to Radical sports cars i realised that the shock were Proteck units a uk based company and after a brief conversation with them the shocks have been sent back to them a couple of times for upgrades including revalving and bigger shock shafts to my own spec with great success they have even supplied me with a set of track springs ,i have found them very good to deal with and would not hesitate to recommened them ,its been quite interesting to set them up for the car !!! .
My race car engineer says that he can build me a bespoke set of his own. Will be about £250 a shock for top quality. He has run BTCC cars and group B rally so he knows what he is up to.The car will be fully set up,ride heights, toes, cambers and corner weights. If I need any bits he is only down the road so this is starting to look like a good option.

yep... one of mine(intrax) failed (after 6 years) and had to post to Holland... they rebuilt it for £110 all in. Couldn't find anyone in UK who could fix it..... So worth looking at a UK make I would suggest (unless you drive to Holland a lot!)
Paul - You should replace/rebuild both dampers on the same axle. One new one sharing an axle with one worn one (6-years) can lead to uneven dive in severe braking situations.Good luck

Aurok built me a set of Ohlins shocks with Eibach springs and I am very pleased with the results so far but they are costly
. If I was to have used something else it would more than likely have been Protech.
As you say Ohlins are excellent and I have them on my race car.I would think Ohlins would be around 2.5k for an Ultima.GHE say that there shocks are pretty equal to Ohlins and will cost me around £1100 plus fitting.Looks like a good option.
