Are there any/many Ultima builders in the US that do custom orders and/or build Ultimas to resell?

I'm curious if there would be enough demand/interest in Ultimas by those not inclined to build thier own to make it a worth-while venture. Many people have stated that the Ultimas hold thier value, but what about sales on turn-key Ultimas?

Granted I've not built one ^_^ but putting through a price list of everything I could think of, seems a 600hp superchaged MPFI 383 chevy based GTR with the Getrag could be built for about $96,000 USD including freight and import tax. (not starting with rolling chassis)

Anyone think one could sell for $116k? Is the builder market on these already full? Etc?

Thanks,
Ash

The only Ultima builder that really markets themselves (that I know of) is brammo.com . There are probably a few independant people who would do it too.

I don't know if a car could be sold at that price or not. I would guess it *could* be done particularly if the seller had a good social circle and connections plus marketing skills.

BTW welcome to Piston Heads!

Ya you should be able to sell them for that much IF they were build really well AND you got your name out in the right circles.

Or you could open a place next to a Porche dealer and put up a HUGE sign that says something like "Fast than a 911 for alot less"

I'm hoping there is a market for these cars in Canada as well. I hope to open a Hot Rod shop in a couple years and would love to build these kits for people. Not alot of people do that thing up here or they don't advertise very well.

Good luck if you decide to do this, I think it would be a blast to build Ultima's for a living!!
