The numbers are in!!!
Discussion
Just got a note from Jeff Schwartz.......dyno work on the LS7 finished yesterday......the winning numbers are....
690.00HP @ 7000
574 ft lb @ 5500
450 ft lb @ 3000
Apparently the engines got a superwide powerband with rev limit set at 7400(still producing 675 hp/480 ft lb..) and to quote Jeff..
"...I set the rev limiter at 7400, cause this thing doesn't sign off"....
Got to hand it to Jeff he's maxed out on the spec we agreed......I'm a very, very happy chap......
Delivery hopefully in the next couple of few weeks or so.....body pre-fit beginning April......so with luck might just be able to get the car on the road this year.....
Keep you posted...

Hi Darren..
Yup pretty excited about this and all aspects of the build actually....trouble is I seem to be spending 99% of the day planning,scheming,dreaming....
I'll post some updates on the build soon plus some 3d shots of plans for the dashboard layout.....still haven't decided on the 'look' yet or whether to go incar PC....how's your build coming on? Are you in position to drop the engine in when you get it?
Keep us posted and how it goes.....

Hi Ryan...
Yup scarey stuff....think I'll probably be screaming whilst the engine singing bounces off the rev limiter!!! Seriously though I'm hoping I'm gonna get a buzz and sense of occassion similar to putting the old GSXR1000 track bike on the throttle stop....never ever tired of that bike...simply awesome engine,.....
For your info - engines a normally aspirated forged piston LS7 running cam & larger airflow mass meter.....

probably not until autumn. As far as progress goes she should be off the dolly in a few weeks, I'll post some photos then.If you're interested I can weigh my carputer - I know you're keen to keep the weight down.

Look forward to seeing your ideas, ATB Darren
ls7tango: The numbers sound great. I will repeat what I heard at PRI. The LS7 in the Corvette has suffered from a less than optimal dry sump pan. Works great on the street but could perhaps be a bit better on the track. ARE out of Sacramento makes a very nice cast aluminum pan for the LS series. This comment was made by somebody who was in a posistion to know what he was talking about in a conversation with ARE. I am not saying any more because of possible conflicts for the person that said it. he is connected to the G.M. racing program. I only bring this up because I have an LS in my GTR and want them to suceed and Jeff has been a resource to me on my build and I continue to wish the best for him and his projects. Lee
by the way the corvette ALMS Corvettes run the ARE system.

Thanks Darren.....
Yes I'd be interested in the install weight for your set-up.....gonna try and keep track of the weight/weight placement through the build...........looks like we're both gonna be off the dolly around about the same time!! Look forward to seeing the piccies!!

The ARE stuff is nice, great for 100% track car, not needed IMO. I'm running a stock camaro wet sump on my TT, nobody would reccomend that, but I've had no issues at track days. Simons engine has upgraded rod bolts, which require rework of the Ti rods, Mahle forged pistons, re-balanced, a Schwartz MAF, custom cam and tune in the GM ECU. This was with our mid engine headers and 3" exhaust.
Thanks
Thanks

come on jeff, your so close to that 100bhp per litre mark...Thanks
can it get there, whats required
has there been any engine porting done, would an electric water pump alone get it over the mark?
More news on the USA site:
"I've been on the dyno for over a week testing several LS7's with different combos.
Made 730.7 on BP pump fuel today on an LS7 with our re-tuned GM ECU, headwork, modified alum intake, Schwartz MAF and stock drive by wire TB. Upgraded internals, With a street friendly camshaft that idles smooth at 920 rpm.
Also made 690hp with a slightly different combo and a stock plastic intake."

LS7Tango, looking forward to seeing this beast on the road, shame it's not out already, there's three of us going for a morning blast this Sunday (The PH Sunday Service is too far for us) a Cobra, TVR and my MG, when you're up and running you'll have to join us.

D3vine.....sorry been away travelling and missed responding to your post......nope no Dymags for me yet - LuckyP's doing all the hard work on that one.....for the moment I've gone for a set of Forgeline Z3XR alloys..once car is on the road/track then I'll probably order the Dymags for track work only......
