Raising the Roof.

I have been reading the forum for a while working out how I would go about building one – and will hopefully place an order soon. A while ago I was asking about interior room in these things, and it became apparent that they are short on it, bad pun intended.

After speaking with the gt40 guys It was mentioned that some of them space the cockpit up a little higher, say ½ it would obviously require some fibreglass work to the side sill and rear wheel arch, as well as new body mounting points in the way of a chassis extension, as you wouldn’t be able to rivet to the existing chassis structure. So body would need painting and chassis new powder coat but as a concept is it achievable.

Hopefully I will not need it, I’m going to try and catch up with the completed one in Sydney and try it on for size.
See hear and search for Ultima.

and don't forget to wear a crash helmet when you try it for head room. Some forget this and then get very disappointed when they go to their first track day and find they don't fit!

true... still only 93 million miles head room... but it was the reason I didn't buy a Sport (as it was then) I don't fit! Even with the lowered floor, a crash hat was a no go unfortunately.
