Very hard to say without looking at it..... how about posting some pictures and an address so we can go have a look (hahaha)

Not sure what the silver ex-Palmer Sport went for - but I know he had a lot of interest. I emailed him about the incorrect pic and he said he had that much interest he wasnt arsed to change the pic.

Based on what he said I'd expect he got over 20K......

I would imagine a Rover/Renault Ultima being difficult to sell.... 15-18K may be right.

... still doesnt really put a value on a barn find.... if you can get it for 5-8K it would be in the region of steal to fair IMO?

Still a lot of work.... but a good start

If it has 'only' been sat for 4 years I would guess it would need an SVA. A log book would only come either with an SVA or 'Donor'. Since a donor is unlkikely I would check it is a log book (V5) he is talking about.

My gut feel when I read the post was a value of about 6-7k. I would try a punt of say 5k and see what happens. If he lurks on here at least he would have had some warning.

Good luck

I would check with the factory, but I'd think you'd find it (very) difficult to SVA the sport. If its registered then you should be ok..

Seem to remember something about the height of the lights being non SVA which was one of the reasons for the GTR redesign but may be my mind playing up.

Hi, there's a pair of ultima sport seats on ebay at the moment for only £95!

White though but hey!

You'll be able to SVA a Sport, if the lights are too low, raise the suspension, still too low? Put spots on raised stands for SVA. There's always a way around it, my last car went in with no windscreen, standard sierra wheels, no roll cage, and an aluminium cover over the top of the engine to stop it poking out through the top of the bonnet. Two weeks later and it was a whole different car....

Again.. IIRC (caveat: check with factory...)

Stuff like door hinges will probably fail external protrusion.

The original mirrors also fail (should find alternatives tho..)

Also things like brake reservoir level warning lights, collapsible steering columns etc etc...

I don't think any sports ever went through SVA...

At the end of the day anything is possible with re-engineering....

I'm sure Sports have been through the SVA. It would have been in the early days of SVA when the interpretation of the rules were less strict. I know of at least 3 spyders that have been through. sthotfast put his car though I do know (Had a few issues though)

As said above, the car that gets presented at SVA is not always the car that hits the road. A little lateral thinking can get round most issues.

Worth a call to the factory to find out which aspects of the Sport needed changing on the GTR.

Good luck

Door hinges and Mirrors need changing, hinges stick out and are to Sharpe. Mirrors are not adjustable from inside the cabin but Can-Am mirrors would work.
Make sure the pip pins are not sticking out....

Could be allot of work that is not standard, and needs none factory parts to be made...
All depends how much work you want to do...

Clive, why do you think the Can Am mirrors would work, are they adjustable? Interested as I'm not sure what to do about the mirrors for mine.
