Standing Engine care advice please - Urgent!
Discussion
Hi Chappies!
Despite having had my wonderful LS7 and GT2 gearbox delivered 3 months ago, I have not had time to do anything with it and I am now a bit worried!
Since the engine has been dyno'd by Mr super-Jeff, then drained (as was the gearbox) for shipping, they have been languishing in the garage, and I am very concerned about corrosion and seizing, so since I cannot see me getting these expensive items in a running state for another 3-6 months, how do I prevent horrible things happening to the internals?
Any advice would be appreciated!
cheers
Keith

Had a similar worry about my engine and spoke to Amerspeed about it.
So long as the engine is in a dry place there should be no problem. But turning it over a few times a month by hand also helps, as does the occasional light spray of WD40 (or similar) to prevent moisture build up on the visible parts (e.g. exhaust outlets).
Basically, you should have no worries but I am sure Jeff will be able to give a more definitive answer.
