My new 377 cuin SBC lives complete with sequential fuel injection!!

It has been a lot of work but tonight made it all worth while. It made 600bhp and 470ftlbs but im slightly concerned at the 11.3:1 comp ratio??

A big thanks to Dave (can am) and Russ (highflyer) for their help. Dave has been awesome and patient with all my dumb ass questions. He managed to sort out the wire i had connected wrongly in about 2 minutes ( i do hate smart arses) so as a result i know have an ignition spark.

I cant wait to get out with it, i have a few jobs to sort prior to using in anger.

Nice on Kyle ! You must have been burning the midnight oil as you were some way from starting when I saw you two weeks back. And I suspected you were being modest about the BHP, you should feel a big difference with 600 horses !

What's this running in reference? Isn't that what the Dyno is for?

The static compression may be high but the dynamic compression could be a lot lower depending on the cam. I'd drive it and just listen out for any pinking/knock. Maybe check the plugs from time to time.

not as i understand it Steve, it was run at 1200rpm for half an hour on the dyno but imo that isnt enough to run the engine in properly!! The bearings need a bit more tlc yet.

Thanks Simon, i drive like a very old lady so you wont have any issues keeping up. I am shocked it started with having EFI fitted, i was informed EFI doesnt work on Ultimas.

Your bearings will have be run in ages ago, they don't really need running in as such. It's the piston rings that need the stick so give it some beans but only for short bursts, use the revs and then lift off. You'll find this an interesting read

Kyle EFI Don't work on SBC its a fact the factory says so !!! no way i'm coming up the rear all the fumes from the carb engines will kill me !!

if i sell the can-am i will come in the luggage carrier .........£50 per bag !!!(no females)and Graham you spare gearbox will be £200 ....each way !!!
