Billet brake & clutch pedals
Discussion
Gents..
Thought I'd post up first idea for billet pedals I'll be making for the GTR.....did'nt want to do anything 'bling'...just neat basic design.....clutch will mimic design of brake....not sure what I'll do for the loud pedal until I see the engine and pedal assembly from Jeff...appreciate any comments?!

Looks good - I was thinking of purchasing the whole AP assembly or something like it, since the factory versions do not inspire me. How much and will the foot pedals be made to match? The factory sandpaper look is equally uninspiring. Hi Ikom,
Thanks for the feedback.....it will probably be 3-4 weeks before I'm in a position to cost them out but I'll post something on here once I know (hopefuly with photos of the finished product).....and yes I will also be making the pedal itself.....post some design ideas here asap......

Simon: those are very nice. I have a billet gas pedal that my machinist built for me but I would be in on a set of clutch and brake pedals as long as they would work in the factory setup. It seems to me that I did a little shimming on my brake and clutch pedals to remove a little play. A thought on the gas pedal, both my original FAST throttle body for my LS motor and the Kinsler I.R. that is going in the FASTs place have long throws from closed throttle to wide open. I measured the Kinsler the other day at 3.5 inchs of travel at the linkage. I could be wrong but I do not think that the factory throttle would accomadate this much travel. Of course the fly by wire on the LS7 would solve this but not all of the LS motors will use an electric control. But please remember that the longer pedal throw on some of these stepped on motors is of value for low speed drivability. Just some thoughts if you decide to go forward with a matching throttle which I think would be neat. Lee

Interesting point Lee.When we were putting the new motor in, I was like a spoilt brat asking for second and third opinion when we tested the WOT position on the carb. On mine I reach FOT when I just touch the pedal on the stop/cable guide riveted to the chassis. Although I'm sure I could get more if I push hard enough and stretch the cable a bit

How do you guys set your max throttle? To be at WOT just before you get to the stop - or am I trying to squeeze power where there ain't any?
Trouble is if I bring the throttle any further back, I get too much throttle on toe and heal. The brake is set just right for comfort and max brake at 90 degrees to master rods.
Lucky: I beleive that the proper way to do it is the gas pedal should hit a hard stop just before the throttle hits its stop. That way you do not run the risk of stretching the cable or screwing up your adjustment's. I beleive that you run a carb on your GTR I could be wrong about this but I beleive that most carbs take around 1.5 to 1.8 inchs of movement from closed to wide open throttle(WOT). Obviously thts no going to wok on a trottle body like a FAST or Multiples like a Kinsler.
OK Guys....firstly thanks for the interest and response on the pedal arms....price wise these work out at 205.00 of our great british pounds per pair + p&p. Hope when use see the quality of the machining work on these you'll be impressed.....
Pete should get his in the post tomorrow....so I'm happy to let Pete report back on the quality and fit as I'm sitting in sunny Abu Dhabi airport heading out to Doha as I type this.....so he'll get to fit his before me!! Just wish I'd done some orange ones for Wayne now as part of his ongoing conversion to the right colour
Oh and I'm afraid my man has engraved this initial batch with a discrete GTR logo....so I apologise to any Can Am owners!
If you email me with contact details I'll arrange shipment ASAP....

PS - Vents are just being finished up and then off to the anodizers....post update on availabilty soon....
