If you get a mobile chap to do it he will be able to tell you how much is in the system and how much it should have in it when he pressure tests it.

The mobile guy who did mine asked but when I said I didn't know he just said 'no matter' will soon find out when I get it pumped up and running.

Been fine for four years.

The first place to look to increase efficiency of your AC is to add some insulation. Arizona + dark blue car......

I was thinking of tinting the windows. Has anyone tried adding tint to the plexiglass doors windows? I may be able to get away with a light tint on the windshield, but in general, it is illegal to tint the front.

You'll need more than that... most of your heat will be coming through the remainder of the body.

Because of the way the doors are made and the returns etc you'll never entirely get rid of heat soak... but lining the inside will help.

Has anyone done any lining on their car? I imagine that besides the glass, the biggest places of heat gain would be the roof, then the door skins. The firewall is already lined pretty well, as is the floor.

I put dynamat all round the pods, floor and bulkeads (front and rear), the roof lining and doors are getting trimmed soon. On those I will be using thin stuff that's used for heat shields... like this http://www.koolmat.com/main.htm... then trim over the top.
