it seems my little spat with Marki and his subsequent banning has meant that the Marki Appreciency society has turned into a pitch fork wielding mob that is calling for my banning
anyway if i do get banned stig will let you know and he will let people have my email address

Sean - don't worry, there's no ban coming (well, not unless you do something to deserve one 
).
Obviously some posters are upset that marki got banned - but he had it coming and had been warned several times (it's usual form to get a sin-bin before a ban and he'd been in there 3 times!).
However, it does come as a timely reminder to respect the rules of posting. It's easy for 'banter' to get a bit out of hand and 'captain keyboard' starts to wade in. Whilst I try to keep an eye on things, as you can imagine, keeping an eye on every thread, all the time is just not possible (even for a PH diehard like me
) and other mods may step in who may not appreciate the full picture.

Don't be stupid - there's no such thing as a Marki Appreciation society. What is being questioned here is double standards in moderation of threads when held against the Posting Rules - nothing else. 900T-R said:

ks - it was a ste thread and it should have been closed, maybe with one of those 'internet agrument' GIFs, without banning anyone. What's been pointed out is that if you are willing to ban someone for just holding an opinion that others strongly disagree of, the consequence would be that others whose transgressions of the posting rules were far more blatant and factual (however tongue-in-cheek they may have been) should have been banned before him. The net result, as stated rightly by another psoter, is that it would get very quiet in here, very quickly. SplatSpeed said:
