Worn suspension bushes

Spent all weekened with the rear clip off doing general stuff getting ready for summer and i found the outer rear wishbone bushes ,the ones that hold the back of the hub at the bottom have worn very bad in fact they were oval !!! this i think would cause the toe in-toe out to alter when excel/decelerating might be worth checking (good job i had a new set of bushes in stock). simon .

Tuxman - This is a very common item to wear. 200 miles for a set is not unknown on a very heavily drivrn car. (Drag strip work etc) I have put the uprated ones all round my car and kept the original ones as spares for this very reason. If my maths are right that gives me 17 sets as spares.

I'm not sure on the life expectancy on the new ones, stainless centres must last longer? Mind you, on my old car the original set were only replaced after 7,500 miles so 17 sets should see me through a fair few miles.

OK Paul should have plenty of time before you need to buy any more !!! i knew the inner ones were a bit suspect and have replaced them with the hard dark grey ones but i did not think the outer ones were the same .checked the car over from front to back and they were the only ones with any slop in them . Guess they lasted ok as the car has done 8000miles !!! must be my smooth driving ability

yep, and the inner rears go as well. I seem to have all colours now.... Orange, Red, Grey and yellow (that I got from another supplier.#0 I think the REDs seem the hardest wearing, the Grey ones seemed a bit too hard and were noisy and needed more grease. Anyone got any other colours?

The current red ones the factory supply are the hardest

Hove got red fitted alround only the rear wishbones have dark grey in them .

Reds with stainless are the current ones supplied by the factory but mine went very oval. I currently have the new red ones at the top rear and the very hard lack/grey at the bottom. they are lasting well!

Yep thats what happened to mine they were very oval !!! but the material feels quite soft perhaps they just go out of shape rather the wear out .
