Dave, I'm also planning to get the box in over Easter and fire her up!
In the estimate they quoted for:
Machining for proper inversion, new syncrhos on 3/4, 5/6, shift forks drilled and safety wired....a GBOX mod to assure positive gear engagement blueprinted shift assembly plus the powder coating.......all for much much less than a box from a scrapper that I'd have no idea of condition etc....

Wayne, the reason I had to look outside of the UK/Europe, was because although all the specialists I spoke to confirmed that it was a well known fact that 2nd or 4th gear syncros go on these box's, no one would give any guarantee that they could repair them! All were willing to strip the box down for inspection for around £600-700 +VAT but would not give me any guarantee of a repair after that, they were also willing to sell me another box (from a scrapper no doubt) for around £2000 +VAT but with very little or no warranty (not going down that route again)
I trawled the 'tinternet' and found GBOX in Colorado and they confirmed what every one has stated previously BUT they said they can repair them and would give a 12month/12K warranty as well.
So I posted this in Jan to help/inform others that might be in the same situation.

I'll ask, although it'll be different if you haven't got an LSD. As said before, ask five suppliers what oil they recommend and you'll get five different answers, but I shall go with whatever they say, as it's their warranty!

I too was worried for my life, but thankfully my new flywheel and clutch are 7.1kg lighter than the old setup so I might survive!

Now that the back end is 2.1kg lighter you should compensate by increasing the rear wing angle by 0.2 degrees.

Dave, is your new yellow box a G96-88 "GT2". If so, I have the same box. Do you have any concerns about the factory provided shifter cables? In your opinion, will the standard Ultima shifter cables work as supplied by the factory? I am wondering because of the rod-ends on the factory setup.

Hi Randy

My new yellow box is a G96/50 (996TT box)and my old box was a G96 (like Grahams red one). I've not yet fitted the box but I have measured the throw of the gears changes on each box and they are the same. So yes the factory cables setup should be fine as that's what I have. I'll let you know for sure once the box is in and working. That should be in the next couple of weeks.
