someone kissed the back of my car!!!

Hi guys have not been on here latley, took the car out tuesday evening in bright sunshine, went on my regular run and it absolutley poured with rain, I broke down on a blind bend, the car just cut out so i went to get out and heard a car coming rather fast!!! ended up diving over the roof of the ultima to get out of the way as the nice person shunted my car 50 yards up the road into the trees!! it has pushed the osr wheel into the fuel tank bending the wihbones and twisting and bending quite a bit of the chassis, there is a lump missing off the back of the gearbox,every piece of body work is damaged including screen, mirror and 2 wheels, I am gutted and am waiting for an insurance assesor to come round, although its my pride and joy I will never feel confident in the car if it is repaired and would rather build a new one, I will have to wait and see what the outcome is.
Bad luck Andy, a real shame, but as in GTRMikies situation, good that you came to no physical harm

Have you seen the thread pertaining to Mikes miss hap? If you have, how bad is the damage do you think in comparison? Without wishing to sound too mercenary, I wonder if this recent batch of damaged cars will affect insurance premiums for the rest of us?
Hope you get things sorted with the minimum of fuss and please keep us posted on your progress

Always a problem on country roads and often think of myself in the other drivers situation and am just waiting to find a tractor round the next corner.
If, like Mike, your car goes for repair at the factory I would have no concerns about driving it again as it will come out as good as new. You know from past threads how anal the factory can get about maintaining the Ultima name and standards so the last thing they would want is for the standard of repair to be in any way questionable.

oh poo! thats crap..... sorry to hear that.... I wouldn't worry about it being "right" after repair. They are as tough as old boots... compared to a modern non chassis car which will be bent after such a shunt and never the same. good luck with the repairs. What Ultima is it? doesnt say on your profile..... sport, GTR ?

As you may have read, my car is now at the factory being repaired. Having just visited and talked to Ted and Richard, I have no reservations about getting it repaired and driving it again. However, mine was only a "glancing collision" whereas yours appears to be a full on rear impact , so your damage may be more extensive. Only the factory can say whether it is repairable or not. Any "normal" vehicle repairer would almost certainly have written my car off. Of course a lot depends on the value of your car. Mine is worth about £30K and the repairs are going to be in excess of £20K. I believe it took some negotiations between the factory and the insurance assessor before they agreed to cough up the repair money, but the factory refused to cut any corners to keep costs down (eg the insurers wanted the rear clip repaired rather than replaced. The factory refused and the insurers backed down)

but glad to hear your okHi guys, I have had a good look around the car and have found that the curved chassis rail behind the osr wheel has bent in towards the exhaust manifold about 10mm, the wishbone pickup points have all been dammaged and torn along with the wishbones, rear end of the gearbox,upright and hub are in pieces, the os exhaust has been damaged, rear clip, front clip, screen, wing mirror on passengers side, both doors, basicaly all the body work is shot, 2 wheels are damaged badly, there is some more damage to some of the chassis, I am gutted as the car was mint, for those who do not know the car it is a gtr 2004 in the best colour RED!!!! what ever happens I will be demanding all new bodywork and a new chassis, why should I settle for anything less when someone else has destroyed my bloody car!! any ideas on repair costs,
