I was pulled over a few weeks ago for running the car without the license plate lights. I was surprised to find that they were not burnt out, they just weren't there at all. I imagine that the light sockets came from the factory, so can anyone tell me what bulb to use? I have purchased three different sizes, and so far nothing has fit.

Thanks

Sorry, 5W Capless doesn't mean anything to the guy at the local auto parts store. Maybe it's a different number on this side of the pond. If anyone has an alternate model number, or even a picture, my guess is that we have a similar light, it's just labeled differently.

Thanks

I found the lights. Over here they are model number 921. I purchased Sylvania 921 LL (long life). They do a good job of lighting up the license plate. They also do a pretty amazing job of lighting up the engine bay. People following me have a clear view 'up my tailpipe'.

Shane there should be a copuple of ali covers that are fitted over light assembly that stop lighting the engine bay. Do you have them.

No, I guess I don't have those. I'll have to see what I can do to get some, or fabricate something similar. In the meantime, it's a pretty cool effect as long as my engine stays clean.

The covers are simply folded ali and are then bonded into place with PU sealant so quite easy to achieve.

Excellent! Sounds simple enough.
