I used to read the magazine articles on the Stealth website with great admiration when the links were still up. The authors would try to say they go used to the Hewland and the drawbacks weren't that bad if you had ample opportunity to take advantage of the positives.

can't say I would suggest using a dog-engagment box on a road car, they are not exactly fit and forget.The Hewland costs as much as a BMW doesn't it?
if you must, then get one more than up to the job, min spec would be an NLT (up to 500Lb/ft and £15K).

Customer built road going Stealths used a G50 'box. A mate of mine built the 1st one with lots of help from Stealth since there was also plenty of design-as-it-was-built taking place. The suspension still hung of plates incorporated into the box casing though, making the 'box a stressed member. The engine was also stressed if memory serves me right.The Hewland costs as much as a BMW doesn't it?
