A fairly insignificant discovery, but still a discovery.

Whilst getting a couple of Volvo's ready to be cleared from my place I opened the hatch back to load a few old bits and bobs into and noticed the gas rams. I have lost one of the spring clip type retainers that hold the cup over the ball on the pivot and just happened to notice that my 960 has the same part. Obviously I have removed them all and now have a surplus but I also removed the gas rams and measured them. They are 550mm between the centres of the ball pivot cup end to end and open but as I am unable to get to mine at the moment, I can not check them to see if they are the same. No big deal really, but may come in handy for someone, someday?

No Steve, you misunderstand, I did not mean to give the impression that I was offering clip less rams to any that may be interested, only that if, like me, you had lost a clip, this is one place to find them and maybe the rams will suite as well
