Hi new here, just ordered a Can Am kit, and hope to fit a 650hp ish LS7 engine.
Just e-mailed American speed as recommend by Ultima for a price, is there anyone else I should try?
American Speed say there engine has Custom programmed GM ECU for Ultima cars, Custom LS-7 wire harness specifically designed for Ultima cars, Mass Air flow assembly, Air flow sensors, K&N air filter, GM LS-7 engine covers and studs, LS-7 oil filter adapter. Heated O2 sensors, CA130 alternator and custom mounting kit, air conditioning compressor for Ultima, custom billet idler and belt tension pulleys, Accelerator pedal for "fly by wire" throttle system, modified oil pump for Ultima cars, inlet manifold rotated 180 deg., dyno testing with printout.
So the engines need to be modifed to fit in an Ultima?

If its of interest i may have a 2006 Spyker complete engine transmission and ancillary set up for sale. The engine is an Audi V8 linked to a Getrac 6 speed sequential transaxle. Price would be £12500 collected from essex.

It's worth having a chat to Andy Burrows at LS Power.
He is doing me an LS 7 package with exhaust, dry sump tank, rolling road setup etc etc. Seemed to me to be a good idea to have a UK supplier - any problems/mods/whatever he's only a drive away.
Thanks will talk to him too. Think it makes sence to use a UK supplierHe is doing me an LS 7 package with exhaust, dry sump tank, rolling road setup etc etc. Seemed to me to be a good idea to have a UK supplier - any problems/mods/whatever he's only a drive away.
I'm about 80% through an Ultima GTR build using an American Speed 650bhp LS-7. Should be exactly the same option that you are looking at. The engine package I received was all complete and no additional mods or bits were needed. Literally drag and drop into the engine bay. Everything seems to work fine. Engine fires consistently so far, so fingers crossed ...
I've heard lots of good things about Jeff Schwartz and his LS-7 Ultimas. It will be very helpful for your build if you can talk to someone who not only knows the engine but also Ultima specific issues.

Hi Adam!
Welcome to the fold!!.....Great choice on the engine - just hope the car's the right colour though!!
Regards supply on the LS7 there are several options out there all of which have to my mind have good and bad points....in the end and for my own reasons I had jeff Schwartz supply my engine package. Whichever direction your research takes you in the only recommendation I can make is to give jeff a call and have a chat through exactly what you are looking for.....of all the LS7 engine suppliers Jeff probably has the most experience of these great engines & jsut talking through the various options with him is an eye opener. Then again for a bog standard LS7 drop in package the American Speed factory option is probably hard to beat....
Have fun with the build!

But as you are a PH'er I'll give you £500
(please let him fall for it.... please let him fall for it)
As before - I'm using a 2007 Audi V8 rated at 420bhp and an Audi box. Cost = £3k-ish.
Okay, so the Getrag is going to add a bit of value, but even assuming Spyker have done some extra tarting up like dry-sumping, etc. then it would still be a fool who paid more than £6k for it.
Basically, I'd drop the Audi tag and sell it as a Spyker engine and gearbox. Someone who's not prepared to get their hands dirty and is uninitiated to the delights of sourcing equal parts from breakers may then pay more because it sounds 'exotic'.
My advice to you... don't buy it thinking you'll make money on it. This is the sort of thing you buy because you want to use it, and then realise that you could have achieved similar for a lot less!
