Radio / Sat Nav Head Unit Location

I've got to the point in my build where I have to decide where to mount the Radio Head Unit and that's where the problems start!
Having purchased a second hand Can Am body the dash and door coverings and all of the instruments have already been fitted as has the air vents. On taking some measurements it would appear that there is not enough room to fit the radio in the front of the dash as the air vent on the left is too close. so what to do, remove all the covering fill in the vents and start again or ........any suggestions / photos from the experts would by appreciated.

the factory mount their radio in the sidewall of the passenger footwell. when i did mine , i wondered about upright on the rear bulkhead between the seats.

Nice idea, but a bit difficult when watching videos etc.
