Been talking about it for long enough so will have to get on with it this winter.
It will be Megasquirt controlled and run EDIS 8 ignition with Ford coil packs.
The logical choice for me will be the Edelbrock efi inlet manifold with fuel rails.
I have the basic ignition bits.
So does anyone have spare or recommend the best buy for all the remaining bits.
Coil pack bracket
Trigger wheel
Inlet manifold Edelbrock Victor E efi
Throttle Body
Throttle position pot
Injectors (Engine currently 508 horses)
Swirl pot
EFI Pump
Filter
Regulator
Return valve
Best source for fuel fittings
Whatever else I’ve forgotten.
Thanks
Steve

Summit parts for ....
fuel pumps (aeromotive, quietish)
filters (aeromotive)
fuel line (make your own hoses its easy Mr can am showed me how to)
fuel fittings
pressure guage
regulator
throttle body
s-m engineering for your swirl pot, top quality at a great price. you will also need a fuse/electronics box making to house relays, ecu, fuses, diagnostic ports etc etc ive put mine behind the passenger seat and fed the loom through the bulkhead to it. He could make you a custom ram air plenum if you want it or are you going to use your carb filter?
i have 2 holley 12" universal fuel rails you could buy at a very good price?
who is going to map it? it is harder than you think but sorry i forgot im talking to Mr Ultima, Dave will be able to help you if you need any.

I plan to do it myself with the required software which data-logs while you go out for a blat. You then stop and run the log through another application which analyses the results and makes the required amendments. You upload those and go for another blat. The plan is to try and create as many variations of load, revs, throttle position etc. during your drive. The map table has 144 boxes and you need to visit as many of them as possible.I know that is not all there is to it but I understand it will get you almost there and any more may fall into the category of diminishing returns or Pareto’s Law.

I was told that you should be able to download a start up map from the Mega Squirt database and then fine tune it for your particular motors requirements yourself, is this the case?
Yes you ask around and find someone running a similar engine to yours and nick their map. That will get you running then you start to log and tune from there as the way it needs to be mapped is as much related to the car not just the build spec of the engine.Steve
Steve: A suggestion, I have mapped two cars on the road my r5 turbo and my ls1 Ultima. I drove both while a professional tuner did the adjustments. I then watched a car maped on a road dyno the other day. They got more points at way less risk with the road dyno then could ever be accomplished on the road. Certinly there will be some fine tunning done on the road after the dyno is finished and yes its not free but one tickett or accident and the cost of the road dyno time is mute. Like I say just a thought. Lee
