Seems odd in the UK, here in NV one way around the emissions requirements is to register as a replica of prior to '67 age, obvious choice is a Ferrari P330.

Decals or not, at GBP14K (sorry don't have a pound sign on my keyboard!) somebody could get a heck of a deal.

I would be wary of the history. The sellers name would link him to a salvage company! I would want a full check and a loooooong chat with Ted if they know what has happened before bidding.

I wonder why the V8 NCB plate was removed? Maybe he lost his No Claims Bonus!

Despite his rear crack(!) and the ebay name, I wouldn't entertain buying it from somebody who has blatantly tried to disguise it as something else (when he knows what the vehicle is) - totally untrustworthy in my eyes!

From what I can gather, the car was an insurance write off, but repairable, so is not HPi clear and presumably this is noted on the log book. I can't believe it was written off just beacuse of the damage to the back panel, so there must be more to it. The seller put the decals on, he says with tape, so they should come off fairly easily to look like a proper car again. The spoiler is proably scrap, unless you have a fetish for painted carbon fibre. Like many things, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. I think I shall wait for the right car to come along, even though that means I'll have to paid quite a lot more.

Now that the initial furore has died down a little and if any one has a genuine interest, why not give the fella a call and get the lowdown? If you were to bid and win and on further inspection things were found to be other than you were led to believe then under the ebays rules are you not entitled to pull out if it has been wrongly advertised or you have been mislead?
As has already been said, if it seems to good to be true, it generally is but then again, it COULD be a genuine bargain. Nobody likes the idea of buying a repaired car but it is entirely possible that it has been repaired properly and is now in no worse condition than an undamaged car and at that type of money it will certainly never be worth less ( unless it has been repaired using string and bubble gum which of course will be obvious upon examination anyway ). If I was in the market I would be giving this seller a call, even if only to satisfy my curiosity

Following Wayne's theme, if the car was a write off then the factory probably know exactly what damage was done as they will have supplied the new clip and possibly other parts.
At that money you could probably break it for spares and make a profit but I suspect the forum is being a bit cautious when it is in fact quite genuine and will be a monster bargain for someone.

Having trouble stopping myself from taking it on as an investment.

Probably worth knowing what the reserve is before deciding it's a bargain, the 14k is a start price, not but it now.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: Gave the fella a call this morning and he is indeed in the salvage game and bought the car in a damaged state. He has repaired it all himself and bought all necessary new parts from the factory but does not have the receipts? A call to the factory should verify. There is no reserve and no buy it now, he is going to let the auction run and is expecting the car to fetch 25K ish. I asked if it could be inspected and he said no problem between now and the end of auction. I am not in the market but you could do no worse than go and have a look see if you are looking to buy a built example. I do not think that it will fetch over 20 bags myself but we have all seen strange things happen on ebay haven't we?
