Ultima owners club

All of the above.
Clubs require time and commitment from a few and support from the many unfortunately this rarely works particularly when there is little possibility of everyone meeting somewhere.
This forum fulfils almost all the needs of a club and works very well in my opinion.

What Steve said really.
The club reached a sort of natural conclusion as this forum started to really take off. I (for my sins) considered taking over the running of the club at one stage, but it requires a lot of effort for little or no reward and in the end, I simply didn't have the time.
The good news is that most of the 'normal' car club functions are handled (admirably) by forum contributors here

I was the southern area coordinator. I was one of the lucky ones as I had about 6 active members! I kinda lost the will to continue when I arranged a meet and only one person turned up! ME!
You need a critical mass of members that Ultima just don't have. Simply, there are not enough cars/builders out there.

how about a regular annual meet though?
there are some entertaining and very helpful people on here and it would be great to put a face to all the names.
it doesn't have to be in the UK, we could do a run to the sun, south of France or somewhere...?
i read with interest the reports on the Le Mans trips and can't think of nothing better than some nice roads and a load of Ultimas...followed by an evening of chat and wine with some like minded and interesting people?
just a thought and open to discussion

As Steve.D said, Stoneleigh is a big draw normaly and the FOD. As for Le Mans, there were about 8 cars at Chanteloupe in '02. A group of us go down every year. If others want to join us they are more than welcome, if not no worries. I doubt making it a "Club thing" will make the numbers grow! People either want to come or not.there are some entertaining and very helpful people on here and it would be great to put a face to all the names.

I'm not trying to stop any organised events or getting the web site back up and working, just don't expect any real sustained interest. The Ultima crowd tent to be individuals!

Summer or springtime will be better and safer for the weather...
