Tires for Street (50%) and Track (50%) in 335/30 18's

I'm running a set of Michelin Pilot Sport currently (300 Treadwear) and they are really slippery. I've gotten good wear, but they just don't claw their way around a track. Just a note, the V700's require shaving and/or heat cycling ($15) if you plan on using them on a dry track. What have you guys purchased and what were your impressions?

I usually use (on my other cars)either Pirelli Corsa (not Corsa system) or Michelin Sport Cup.

Both are road legal. The Michelin are a little bit more rigid but the Pirelli
forgive too much enthusiasm.

Unfortunately these two brands have not 335/30/18 !

So I use Toyo R888 on rear wheels and Pirelli Corsa on the front ones.
The Toyo are in little less performant than Pirelli (and less expensive too...)

I take issue with your thread title. I do a fair few trackdays and lots of road miles - I'd say even for the heaviest tracker (who drives his car to and from circuits and to shows) the ratio of road to track is more like 95% Road to 5% track.

I'm gonna start wearing my Goodyears on road and save the Kumhos for trackday (taking in a support car when possible)

I heat cycled the Kumhos buy getting them hot on road and then bring the car into the garage and putting it up on stands over night.

Never used my car on the track but have done numerous vmax runs. I used tp destruction 2 rear sets of goodyears and one set on the front. Currently on Michelin and they last loads longer and grip very well. Same for the porsche- michelin cost a lot but very god. Saying that I dont aim to use th Ult in the wet so may well go for the Khumo next time.

I agree 100% with that statement about the Pilot Sports.

Hey guys thanks for the comments. I exchanged emails with Richard and he said they love the V700's (called something else but similar tire in England) and added that they do not shave them and have had great results.
