I'm trying to fit my seats into the Spyder today, but having trouble trying to get them in the correct position to drill hole's. There's already 20 holes in the floor pan already from previous seats - so i want to get these one's right.

The problme is, the driver's seats as i've got runners, but it needs to be perfect otherwise it'll hit either the gearstick, or the seatbelt bolt.

Is there a template? or shall i just go for it and hope i get lucky first time :-)

Thanks

Craig.

Hi Craig,

There is a template in the manual but i found i didnt like the position.
I also have the runners on my seats. The way i did it in the end is place a sheet of card on the floorpan (Taped) put the a seat in the car , then very gingerly put myself in the driving position i wanted, then dropped my full weight into the seat so that the runners indented the card.
Probably a bit less technical than some others but pretty much spot on when i drilled my holes. Just needed a slight bit of ovaling but not much.

Hope this helps

Dave

If you don't have factory seats then the layout in the manual may not help.
It is worth noting however that if you are using the side shift then the seats do not sit square in the floor pan. Both seats point in towards the middle slightly.
If you don't have the drilling diagram then let me know.

thanks guys, I have the original seats and runners. I've checked my manual but don't have a diagram anywhere :-( so if you have a copy any chance you can send it over? if not send me the measurements.

I tried the cardboard route - but still not too confident with drilling more holes.

Took the opportunity to paint the floor again though today as there was a few scratches on it.

Craig.
