More Drag Testing
Discussion
This Thursday, I'm driving my Ultima 800 miles to Bristol Tennessee for a feature story photo shoot with Car Craft Magazine. I'll be drag testing it as well as doing a pylon course time trails. Extensive dyno tuning last week resulted in 480 rwhp. I now have a sealed ram air system off the scoop. Hoping to crack 140 mph in the 1/4 mile. We'll see.
The event is open to spectators Friday thru Sunday, so if you're in that part of the USA...

I think me and Andy Can-Am do understand the 1/4 ET = HP. Mine has 420bhp and does it @ 121, with a 6 Speed. Have a few 600BHP monsters just finished over here in blity, and a Friend with 649bhp @ 6400rpm and 606 lbs, it also has over 500 lbs at 3000rpm, all these figures are of a Superflow Dyno here in England. God nows what ET they will do but will keep you posted.
ps Good luck at the Car Craft run.

I drove through Bristol a few years ago on holiday. It was the middle of the week so there wasn't much doing though. I hope you'll be able to take a detour through some of the mountains on the way home. There's some great roads in that part of the world (when you get away from the main thoroughfares)...good surface, great views and quite challenging. Remember wishing I could have swapped my hirecar for an Ultima (which I couldn't afford at the time)... Definitely put to bed the UK stereotype that the US only has straight boring roads!
Good luck on the strip.
American Roads the summer memories. Whats worst a brit trying to understand a 4 way stop or an American driver negotaiting a round-about.Equally frightening. What a pleasure it must be to drive an Ultima there. I drove the the million dollar highway in Colorado, any Ultima owners within a couple of thousand miles must give it a try. Only sorry in a hire 4-wheel, corners no-problem, how do you keep them going straight.
I'm near Bristol Tennessee. I was writing about Deal's Gap. The other roads I mentioned are 421, 321 and 91. There are hundreds of good curvy two lane roads in the eastern part of the US.
