i was told 8 of these was better than an LS7 engine????http://www.kinetictfr.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/...

It's a boat anchor at 200 lbs heavier than an LS7 block.
And GM has yet to release the 6 bolt heads for it.
I've had a block for over a year waiting for the heads to be released.
This 454 is just using the standard 4 bolt heads.
I'll have a 620 hp LS3 soon enough.

Jeff have you not concidered using all pro or ET heads?? i believe they have heads that will drop straight on and work. alternaticvely you could go for the Warhawk LSx heads and only use 5 bolts.
i believe also ERL can do a LS2 with 6 bolts per cylinder. and Dart can machine a biliet ally block to whatever you want! lol
the problem, even with the ally Warhawk block, i have heard is sleave length. Nelson racing had alot of problems with the engine for the Mosler. Nelson got longer sleves installed as they where having problems if the pistons i think.
also there is a company, cant remeber the name, that where converting LS2's to around 500inch!!!!
Chris.
Chris,
Kind of off topic, but
All Pro and ET have had casting problems. Leaking water, etc. ET may be out of business soon.
Warhawk has many problems, I recenlty built one. Also their bolt pattern in different will not fit LSx block.
The warhawk LS7 heads only flow 310 cfm vs 370 for the actual LS7.
The LS2 with 6 bolts has tabs welded to the block for the extra bolts, not good IMO.
The 500 inch LS2 has 25mm spacers sandwiched to the top of the block, which makes the engine much wider and taller and is not great IMO. BTW their street 500 inch shown at PRI show, made less hp than our 427.
