LS7 engine mounts
Discussion
I was just wondering if anyone has any pictures of the LS7 engine mounts, to include how it works with the chassis(previously had a SBC fitted). I want to make some as i have a friendly retired engineer nearby who in exchange for a ride in the finished car will help me with any fabrication. We are also going to have a go at using the Getrag centre shift cables to change a G50???

There's templates for LS>SB mounts on the "conversions and hybrids" section of ls1tech.com
Start by reading the stickys..... especially the "hall of fame" threads

The first post in this one points you to mounts.

There's 2 types of SB mounts..... generally you need the thinner/smaller ones.
Get the mounts before making the adaptor plates.
An alternative is solid mounts... Ive been in Jeff Schwartz's car with solid mounts and its not very noticable (in amongst all of the other sensations)

Kyle, some good photos of various porsche transaxle cable changers at cableshift.com.....think its Brandwood engineering....might give you some clues for your conversion..... and a bit simpler than some of the highly engineered options.

My current setup has cable change .... centre shift to Getrag, i want to keep the centre shift and run cables to the new G50, they usually run a G50 with rods that look like spears..... lovely if they came through the bulkhead
thanks crafty, ive sent an emails to auto wotsits.
I will give them a shout Dave, simple is good and usually the most effective!!

Anyone here used this system. Would save lots of work if converting from a linkage and allow the use of a factory dry sump tank.If you have this please let us know how your car shifts.
Thanks,

Never used it and it does look uber-fab, however... a morning with the welder would produce something just as effective (albeit less spectacular looking) and would save you an absolute mint!
I agree it does look lovely but my creaking budget may not be upto it!! The cables i have are too long so lots to think about.Gassing Station | Ultima | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
