... got hold of a set of plates for my car!!!

Ended up buying a second hand car dealership for USD20K that owns a set of trade plates .... about 1/3 of what the tax would have been to register the Ultima.

I'd been using my buddy's T plates, but they were only available for a few hours at a time and only at inconvenient times.

So spent Saturday and Sunday doing a bunch of shakedown stuff, sorting out stuff Id been ignoring due to the time constraints on my mate's plates.

Still a bunch of little things to sort, but having the freedom to get it out and about has given me a burst of enthusiam. Hadnt had it out for about 4 months due to the plate issue (and work)... Its easy to forget how insanely fast this thing is.

Jeff is finishing up a set of headers for me... they are on the way.

Life is good!

..... its a first registration tax based on the declared value of the car at time of importation, so depending on the car spec it could be that high. Of course mine is a very low spec so the value is very low.

The first registration tax is ridiculously high, but designed to keep cars off the road. Its offset somewhat by 15% personal / profits tax!!!

Absolutely brilliant idea. I need a dealership license so I can drive my race car on the street with dealer plates.
