Discussion
I have this idea of mounting a

on my ZZ4 engine. Anyone know if it fits? I am a bit vary about the space in front of the engine, it might touch the firewall?? Lots of extra power for around 2000-2500 pounds....

And ask the question there.
They are very expert and will tell you if you are making the right move or if there is something better.
Include in you post everything you know about your motor,
What you are looking to achieve i.e. torque at low revs or HP at high revs.
What gear and diff ratios, size of wheels and tyres.
Weight of car.
I’m there daily so will look out for you. If you don’t feel like going there give me the info and I will post it for you.

I am thinking in a similar vein. After spending some time over at chevytalk (top place REALLY helpful peeps) I am leaning towards a procharger.(www.procharger.com)
Got a big lump of foam I am going to chop for a mock up when I get a few mins.

Both Procharger and Vortech systems are centrifugal superchargers. They will give the boost at higher rpms but still have to "spool up" like turbos. try www.whipplesuperchargers.com They have positive displacement (compress all the time) systems that are designed just for the ZZ4 crate engine.
Yes and No. They do, however for the LS1/6 option I would recommend www.lingenfelter.com They have more experience with the corvette engines than anyone I know.
Procharger do a system for the Corvette which boost's the old girl from 345 to 540bhp. Ls1 or Ls6 are the same output as the Ls6 has a higher compression and cannot run as high boost as the Ls1. Thats with no internal mods just the blower intercooler and Ecu mods. $7000 for the corvette complete kit. Will have to get one for my Vette just don't tell the wife though... see if she notices the difference...
Procharger and Vortech systems are fine if you are running in the mid to upper RPMs all the time. City driving suffers however. Unless the reprograming of the ECU treats the engine like a normal engine at idle-mid RPMs then it will be like stock (or lower). Most aftermarket systems run the fuel so rich that it chokes the engine for air. The boost figures (new HP #'s) are at higher RPMs. The higher the boost, the higher the HP. The advertising doesn't give you a realistic curve, although the #'s given are higher max HP, it still doesn't account for the rest of the RPM range.
Just be sure to get all of the figures befor sinking all that money into something and being disappointed.
This goes for anything you buy auto related or otherwise.

He also use to sit next to a Carlos Since mapping his Celica GT4 TTE. So super charging is not a problem..
