Hi
Any one built a rolling kit in a single garage .
my garage will fit a Ultima but would it be to small to build one in ,has any one done this.
Do ultima sell turn key V8 to fit

Yes and yes.
To build in a single garage you will need a dolly which is a chassis stand on castors. You can then move it out onto a drive or push it over against the wall to work on the other side.

Check the Ultima site for a link to their engine supplier American Speed.

I did it. It was tight and took good planning but it can be done. The biggest issue is the storage of stuff like the body while you building the chassis. You'll want to schedule the receipt of your engine and trans later rather than earlier. It just sits around for a long time before you really need it. Check out my website for pics of my build area.

I have a single garage, but luckily its quite long, so I have space to work, its defo difficult to get down the sides, but as steve says build on a dolly, and you have a lot more flexibility, if you can get the dolly outside that would be a great help. (I cant as half the drive is dug up.)

You definatly want to stagger the parts as well, for example just the wheels take up alot of space. Dont forget the house also, I had bodyparts indoors for a few weeks..!

Thanks for the help would not be using my drive as its on a slope not that steep but its not flat, which is a pain
still thinking would a built car be better for me.

Maybe you could consider building the car up to "rolling chassis" stage - and then have it completed by the factory (if they would be happy to do that )

The bodywork on/off/on/off is a major issue if you have a lack of space..
