Sport and Spyder headlight issue
Discussion
I have always thought the dipped beam headlights were a bit pants on my spyder. I tried to put in bigger bulbs etc, but still pants. I think a few others have noticed the same..... anyway, long story short, my loom (which is 1998) doesnt have a relay for the dipped beams, only the high beams. Not being an expert in such things I thought I would have a dig around. I found the dipped beam bulb was only getting 6 volts - when the battery was at 13 volts. ???? Anyway, I have now fitted a relay and the bulbs now get 13 volts. And......they are 3 times as bright! It seems the ultima dash switch has a massive internal resistance, hence the 6 volts at the bulb and the pants glow. I would suggest any sport or spyder owners check it out. I did call the factory and they said "no, they didnt put a dip beam relay as standard "(not sure about the GTR's).
Worth having a go to get very bright lights for about £15.
Hope this helps......... more info if you need it...........
