After 3 years of devotion to X8GTR and the Pistonhead Ultima forum, it is time to say goodbye.

She has served me well, I hope given you guys some entertainment under my custody, but I have reached the end of my journey with her.

Building and running the Ultima has been a period of my life I shall never forget. An experience that I would recommend to anyone with the drive to see it through. Anyone who wants more than what the 'mainstream' has to offer and those who just like to do things a little bit differently.

Wouldn't replace these last 3 years for anything.......

In 3 years and 15,000 miles X8GTR has:

Done a 3000 mile Cannonball Run
Around 20 trackdays
Several Vmax - 188mph
Two Fighting Torques winning the 'standard' wink category in both
Been PH Hero
Attended many shows and meets

Above all, she has allowed me to meet you crazy bunch and took me to all levels emotions - both high and low!!

She is in the best possible condition and at a spec that I am happy with. Job done.

Farewell GTR........frown

She goes to a very good home (one of our crew) and I hope I can come to visit????

Lucky out

On my third beer now....frownfrownbiggrin

Pete, what brought this on ?
Sleep it off and write a retraction in the morning, and keep off those 'Kessies'

Plus I won't need it for the next six months....probably frown

Plus, plus, what else can I do with it?

Plus, plus, plus, there are a new set of wheels in the distant horizon smile

Wow mate, got your email, and gutted to hear this. frown Many a fond memory of that beast. Beating ME in the FT "stock" class (I clearly looked more stock without all those fancy wings you have). Vmax. The second FT with the Ult helping to escort that old FAST (but broken) k-car down the road. Etc.

Glad she's going to a good home, as all well-crafted cars should. Now onto new challenges man, good luck!

What's next? Well I'm moving from Hinkley to Stuttgart. Less power, more weight, but faster and still BLACK!!!

Who bought it? Haven't you heard of foreplay Steve??? Not my place to tell!!!

Over to you, mistery buyer!!!!

Blimey mate - I thought you were kidding!

Still, I know how you feel, sometimes it's time for a change frown

I can honestly say, that this is one of the most impressive examples out there, so whoever has got hold of it should be very happy.

Now - what's next....?

997 GT3RS?

If it is, then it's a very impressive car - you won't be disappointed (I've got some great Porker contacts too if you need info!)

a porsche faster than an ultima... what a joke is that ?
I have a 993 turbo (werksleistungsgesteigert,if you know what that means)
and it is slow like a snail compared to the 450hp Ultima GTR that I was riding in.
Why the hell do you think I am living in my garage the next 4 months ?
So I can only imagine what the new Stuttgart car would be like that is faster than your GTR ?

Such a beautiful car Pete!

Still, I am sure you will replace her with something equally mean!

I am guessing 996/7TT, probably the latter with prices for good ones similar to what the Ultima has sold for, i am guessing?

With BLKROKT posting here, I assume it will be tuned up significantly? Go on, let us know the specs! wink

All current 911 models by Stuttgart are faster than my Ultima.

Non of them quicker....but all faster. smile
