Fuel Gauge

Looking for some help with wiring up the VDO fuel gauge. The previous owner butchered the wiring loom around the gauges and the fuel gauge does not work. Can anyone advise how to wire the gauge to the sender and the positive/negative feeds to the gauge. Thanks and apologies for the boring topic but such is Ultima ownership!!

Isn't wiring fun! It is really hard troubleshooting these types of things via email. Here is a link to a schematic that has been really helpful for me. I can't guaranty that your wiring is identical, but its probably close. The fuel system wiring is a really simple circuit but getting to it in a completed car will be tough. Be patient, you only have to fix it once.
