has anyone seen the latest GTR for sale on pistonheads??

errr.....Slovenia? this isnt one of those - send me loads of money and collect from the shipping agent type sales is it? (ie you send the money but you dont get the car?) worth checking I guess.....http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/977383.htm

It has to be worth asking the questions directly and just be as safe as possible with the transaction, don't send any money in advance through dodgy means of payment and see if anyone you trust/know will vouch for the chap.
If you go ahead with the sale one way or the other you're going to have to transfer £39k to a bank account and more than likely a foreign one. It goes without saying that you have to do your due diligence and see how well this transfer can be protected. He's not going to let the car go without the cash and you don't want him to disappear once the cash has gone through. Maybe there's a way you can use ESCROW?
The factory should be able to tell you more about the car if he can give you the chassis number, if it were me I'd be looking to get a picture of the chassis number and authenticate it with his driving license/passport in the same pic.
This appears to be a good site, recommends seeing a copy of the V5.

I use a commercial broker for changing currencies, its done over the phone, and as of the last six months when I now send money from one account to the other it takes about 30 mins to move from one to the other..
Maybe you could go and meet him, stand next to him and do the deal and drive the car away? - Im not saying this is a good idea, something is bound to go wrong.. just an option?!!

t, it smells like sSaw that ad yesterday and the comment about "this could be the best buy of your life" made me chuckle.

If I were buying a new Ultima I'm pretty sure I would go and get it and drive it back home.
And seeing as Ljubljana is around 1000 miles away the I reckon the ad is just a poor attempt to scam some feeble minded fool out of their hard earned.

1) the car is real. Unfortunately not everyone lives in UK, some of us live in mainland europe. At least we drive on the right side of the road
I think there is no reason why we can't sell a car on a typically british site like pistonheads 
2) If you are from UK and would like to see the car, easyJet has a direct flight from London(Stansted) to Ljubljana. It's cheap. So if anyone is interested to buy the car, you risk virtually nothing. You come and see the car, worst case you will spend 40 quid for flight, 30 for a hotel and 1 or 2 days of your time.
If you decide to buy, we do an ownership transfer etc. I understand that some might think Slovenia is a doggy place, but guess what it is part of EU and the laws are the same as in the other EU member states. If you are not afraid to buy a car from Germany, Italy etc... We do have the same laws here. In terms of standard, we have a GDP higher than for example Portugal. Maybe you have also heard that we were the presiding EU state last year?
3) I have updated the ad to better reflect the history of the car. The car was built in 2002 and registered in UK, but haven't done any mileage until 2005. I made a couple of hundered miles on it since, mostly to keep the engine, gearbox and axles fresh. So virtually it's like new.
My plans were to use the car on track, but due to lack of time it was just sitting in my garage over the years (except for lubricating the car and driving once monthly around my village to wake up the mechnical parts (and wake up the neighbours))
Since I don't really use the pistonheads forums (too busy unfortunately), it is best to send me an email.
